When the SAINTS go WALKIN' In!
Cristo Rey High School is a private, non-profit, college prep high school for motivated financially disadvantaged students. To learn more about Cristo Rey High School visit: www.cristoreysacramento.org.
The goal of Cristo Rey is to stop the cycle of poverty and offer more opportunities for the future of these young people. Students dress each day in professional work attire and are required to assist in paying for the cost of their education by working one day a week for a local business. Not only does the income from the generous Corporate Work Study Sponsors help sustain the school, it exposes the students to a professional work environment.
This year, Cristo Rey will graduate its first class of students. Some of the students will be the first in their family to graduate from high school. Most will be the first in their family to go on to college.
For example, one of this year’s graduates has worked the last several years at Sutter Hospital and plans to become a pharmacist. She has already been accepted to several of the colleges she applied to and is looking at a bright future! We are very proud of all of our students.
Please help by sponsoring one of our students listed, or walk with us, in this year’s Walk 'n Rock. While 6 other charities for children and education will participate, 100% of your support will go to Cristo Rey High School.
